The market closed yesterday with gold price Swiss Francs being 1,027.50SP (exchanged).  That puts most modern Swiss Francs gold at around 3,300/kilo (SP).

The most common Swiss Francs traded are the 20 Franc Swiss Miss or Swiss Francs gold coins.  First minted in 1897, these were minted in their popular Swiss Miss configuration until 1935.  They sell for about $250USD today in uncirculated form and have .1867 ounce troy of gold content.  They are famous for the classic Swiss Miss profile with the Alps in the background and the cross and shield with the denomination and date stamp on the reverse.

Because they are collection items, they are normally private and do not require registration or valuation for tax purposes, but consult with your tax adviser before investing.  These coins are widely marketed and are bought and sold regularly.

Newer Swiss Francs gold is also around, though the design is not as classic.  Some limited runs of Swiss Francs with the Swiss Miss on them were made in the 1970s, but are not as easily found nor are they considered as collectible.

Te gold price Swiss Francs effects their value, of course, but the majority of the value in the older Swiss Francs is in their collection, not their gold content.  Definitely fund to find and acquire, the Swiss Francs gold coins are great.
